Susan Owens has served as Executive Director of the Crape Myrtle Trails of McKinney since 2004. She became a charter member of Friends of the Trails in 1999 and served on the CMT board prior to her current position. She and her husband Jim, himself an active volunteer for CMT, live in Celina where Susan raises, what else, crape myrtles. She serves as board member and Secretary of the Celina Economic Development Corporation. She is a charter member and Past President of the Celina Garden Club. She is a Collin County Master Gardener and a Past President of that organization as well.

Asked how she enjoys her position with The Crape Myrtle Trails, this energetic leader said, "It is an honor for me to serve with a great group of people who all have the same goal in mind, that is, the beautification and enrichment of McKinney."
